A nanofarad (nF) equals 10⁻⁹ farads, 1,000 picofarads, or 0.001 microfarads. Common for ceramic disc capacitors (1-100 nF), film capacitors, and timing circuits. Bypass capacitors often use 100 nF (0.1 μF). One nF = 1000 pF.
